The 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge
A national effort sponsored by American Patchwork and Quilting to make
a difference at the local level by sewing and donating pillowcases.
Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference
Every pillowcase can make a difference in our community. A pillowcase
can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child,
encouragement for a battered woman or beauty for a nursing home
resident.
What can you do to help?
Sew a pillowcase or more.  Drop them off here at Seams Like Home.  For
each pillowcase that you donate, receive a discount coupon for Seams Like
Home and a free fat quarter.  We will enter your donated pillowcases
online in the national total. (To date the national total is at 65,217
pillowcases.) Then, we will donate your pillowcases to local charities
including the local senior centers, food shelf, etc.)

        Pick a flower from the flower pot to see what your special savings will
be!

Turtle Pageant
Create your own version for our 5th annual beauty pageant. Last year we
had the pig beauty pageant; this year we will be having a turtle beauty
pageant.  
        Turtles will be due for drop off on July 29th.  
        We will be holding a pageant starting July 30th and awarding prizes
August 21st.
        Prizes will be based on customer feedback for most unique, cutest,
etc.  
        Prizes will include gift certificates, fat quarter packs and other treats.

NEW Bag Challenge!
Steps:
1.)        Make a bag: tote, handbag…the choice is yours.  Does not have to
be an original design, you can use a pattern.
2.)        Drop off your bag entry by July 15th.
3.)        Contest will run from July 16th through August 15th.
4.)        Voting is done by placing a quarter into each bag that you are
voting for.  The bag that earns the most quarters wins!  All proceeds will
be donated to local charities.
5.)        Prizes will include fat quarter packs and gift certificates.

Quilt Minnesota 2010
July 30th – August 15th
Each shop will provide free to each hopper a 5" square of fabric from this years
coordinates and a pattern for a 9" finished block,
they will also stamp your passport.
If you complete all the shops in a section, you will fill out a section completion form
that you turn in at the last shop you visit in that section, that will qualify you for that
section's sectional incentives drawing.

To qualify for State Level Prizes a customer must meet a minimum requirement of
visiting eight (8) shops in each of the seven (7) sections.
Grand Prize: An Alaskan Cruise for 2 (includes airfare)
7 - $100.00 Gift Certificates
If your name is drawn for a section and you've visited all of the shops in that section, it
doubles!
This year we will be giving away commemorative shirts to those that complete the
entire hop! (83 shops total)

Each of the different sections will have their own special incentives.

It’s a quilters’ yard sale August 28th from
9am-1pm.
Fee: $10 to have a table space to sell all of your old quilt tops, blocks,
patterns, notions and fabrics that you are tired of and no longer want. You
are responsible for marking your items and managing your table during
the sale.  You provide your own table, chairs, and cash box.  (Tables and
chairs are available for an additional fee of $5, reserve ahead of time.)
There will also be a sale going on inside the shop, along with lemonade all
day.  
Deadline for sign up is July 31st.  
The more the merrier, so do some cleaning and organizing and let’s have
a sale!)
