Trout Lake Camps Quilters' Retreat Projects March 16-18 T-shirt Quilt Another easy way to repurpose your old t-shirts! A t-shirt quilt makes a great memory quilt, use it as a way to remember a loved one or use it to showcase a part of your or someone else’s life… think graduation gift, etc. I will show you an example or two and give hints and tips on making your own, pattern available even if you don’t bring t-shirts with you. Materials Needed: Sewing T-shirts (lots… at least 12) 8-12 yards of fusible light to medium weight interfacing 2-4 yards of a coordinating fabric for opt. sashing and/or border and binding. (You will eventually need batting and backing fabric) T-shirt Scarf (Bonus Project) Scarves are an easy, no-fuss accessory, and they keep you warm too! Clean out your closet or visit a local thrift store to gather old t-shirts and join the fun. This is a quick project that yields a very soft, comfortable scarf. When choosing your t-shirts: size/ small stains/ and small tears won’ t matter. You will be cutting the t-shirts apart. Select based on colors and t-shirt designs that appeal to you. They make great gifts too! Materials Needed: 5-6 coordinating t-shirts Coordinating thread The Easiest Pillow You Will Ever Make This pillow is so easy to make that you could change it out for different seasons. This is a great project to use some of those novelty fat quarters up! Materials Needed: (5) Coordinating fat quarters 14” pillow form 1 large decorative button (optional) Coordinating thread Spring Table Runner Make this quick table runner to freshen your tabletop for Easter or Spring in general. Materials Needed: (3) Coordinating fat quarters (preferably one light, one medium, one dark print) 1 yard for border, backing, and binding. |
