Victory Quilts represents a look back in history to the 1940's and life in the home front during the War years. This Sampler Quilt offers patterns and techniques for 20 blocks, in two sizes. Same block repeat patterns are included in addition to a table runner. Book price $27.95. (Book is on sale through September 26th. 20% off.) We will be making (13) 12” blocks over the course of the next year. They will be in patriotic red, white, and blues. There will be a $5.00 fee four your first block kit in October, then your next block kits are free if you pick them up on the first Saturday of the month. Make story time special for little ducklings you know - they can snuggle under one of these adorable duck-themed quilts as they read their favorite duck-themed book. A main quilt spotlights 16 lively appliquéd ducks, plus a large duck in a center panel. Includes two smaller, simpler quilts. Pattern price $12.95 This block of the month will run like our Chicken Buffet did. You will purchase a copy of the pattern. Then the block kits can be picked up on any day during that particular month for $1.00. Miss and month and the block kit is $2.00. We will be making (12) 6”duckling blocks. Thimbleberries Club 2010 Village Green in Midnight Color Way As I write this, the cost is unknown, but is looking to be around $225.00 for the year for a 72” x82” quilt (not including backing.) What will this club membership fee get you? 1.) one pattern each month for a component of the big quilt 2.) a bonus pattern each month 3.) a monthly newsletter from Lynette Jensen 4.) door prizes at the meetings 5.) 20% discount on all additional Thimbleberries fabrics purchased (backings, etc.) 6.) Fabric for either the big quilt top Thimbleberries Quilt Club meetings would be held on the first Tuesday of the month 6pm and the following morning at 10am starting in January. The meetings will consist of sharing tips, show and tell time, door prizes, and distribution of a monthly bonus project and will last about an hour. Other Club Options Quilters’ Book Club: We are beginning a Quilters’ Book Club on January 14th. We will be working our way through the Elm Creek Quilt Series and the book “Sylvia’s Bridal Sampler. “This book features (140) 6” quilt blocks. You won’t need to complete all 140, but it will be fun to meet once a month, show-n- tell some of the blocks we have made, and discuss some books. Choose your own fabrics and begin reading the first book “The Quilter’s Apprentice” by Jennifer Chiaverini. Then, join us on the 14th. (We will meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month.) Come in at 5pm to sew or at 6pm for the book club discussion. Stop in the shop to sign up ahead of time and/or purchase the books. Retreats Our currently scheduled retreat dates are: February 6th-8th (Waiting List has begun…) These retreat weekends take place at Woodland Beach Resort in Deerwood, MN (just past Garrison) |
