Classes and Events:
Each class below is assigned a number; that same number will be posted by the sample hanging in
the shop. When you come in to register, it will make it easier to see what will be offered at the
class.
Sept. Open Sewing Night: Need to get away from the hustle and bustle of your own home in
order to get some quilting done? Join Susan and/or Melissa on Sept. 8th from 11 am-8 pm
MUST pre-register.
3.) Recycled Sweater Mittens
Warm mittens, a Minnesota necessity! Clean out your closet or visit a local thrift store to
gather 1-2 old sweaters (preferably with a minimum of 70% wool content and join the fun.
Fee: $10 plus Melissa Johnson

5.) Intermediate Series:
Looking to learn how to piece curved blocks, work with bias, try different appliqué techniques,
etc.? Then sign up for this series. Min.of 3 people for class to take place. Pick up a supply list
when you register.
Fee: $60 plus materials and supplies

6.) Get to Know Your Sewing Machine
Did you get a sewing machine for Christmas? Or did you inherit one from a relative and you
have no idea how to thread it? Well, join us to learn some of the basics of your machine: how to
thread it, wind a bobbin, what those funny looking attachments are for, etc.
Fee: $10 plus Melissa Johnson

7.) Grommet Grab Bag
Sporting four stylish grommets on each side, this chic shoulder hand bag offers plenty of room
and several interior pocket spaces. Two variations of handles, a single cord covered handle and a
braided fabric version. Size is 15 1/2" W at Base x 12" W at Top x 12" Tall x 3 1/2 Deep

8.) Photo Quilt Labels
Labels can make a perfect quilt even better. They can personalize a gift, they can record history,
they can take the place of a special message on a greeting card. Come in for a class to practice
making labels with photos. Either bring in your laptop, email me a photo or two, or stop in an
drop off a few photos prior to class. We will be using Printed Treasures photo transfer sheets.
Thursday, March 4th from 5:30-8:30 pm.

9.) Easy Kid’s Sleeping Bag
Make an easy quilted sleeping bag perfect for sleepovers and campouts.

10.) Pin Cushions:
Pin cushions are both functional and fun. Use scraps and get a variety of pattern options to
create a fresh pin cushion for your sewing room.

11.) Sweet Harmony
Mordern lines and effortless style help show off your favorite prints. Easy-to-make in 2 sizes,

12.) Curve Appeal Tote:
Choose a colorful floral and stripe to create this must-have caryyall. It will hold what you need
when you’re shopping or commuting, Don’t worry about losing small items in the tote-clutter
shuffle, pockets inside and out make easy-to-access spaces for keys, cell phone, and other small
necessities.

13.) Day and Night Quilt:
Day and Night will mystify, enchant, and entertain you! Choose two or three fabric and create
your own illusion. Quilt looks very complex, but has a shortcut technique. Book includes two
additional patterns to use your scraps from the quilt on.
Fee: $6 plus materials and supplies (book $27.95 by Eleanor Burns for Quilt in A Day. Book
includes ruler needed.)

Wrap, wind, and sew fabric strips into fantastic containers! Start with a plate shape to learn the
technique. Then experiment to create baskets and bowls.

Class Policies:
All classes held at Seams Like Home Quilt Shop in Sturgeon Lake.
Material and supply lists will be available at registration. Feel free to stop in the
shop in advance to choose materials and supplies for all classes.
A 10% discount will be given on all supplies purchased for the class.
Due to copyright laws we ask that you purchase the patterns and books when
required for a class.
You must cancel one week prior to the start of the class in order to receive a refund.
If a minimum enrollment is required, you will be notified 3 days in advance and will
receive a refund.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of class to set up your sewing area. Please
have a new needle for your machine, a full bobbin, and quality thread.
A ¼” quilters’ presser foot (or piecing foot) for your machine is recommended.
* All class fees must be paid in full prior to the beginning of the class.
